Trinidad and Tobago delegation hosts German travel trade media at ITB (Forimmediaterelease.net) Trinidad and Tobago continued its successful showing at International Tourism Bourse or ITB with a well-attended press conference at the Messe Berlin Conference Centre. The conference was led by the Honorable Chandresh Sharma, Minister of Tourism; Secretary of Tourism and Transportation, Tobago House of Assembly, Mrs. Tracy Davidson-Celestine and Chris James, President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association.

Present were members of the German travel trade media who were given some insight into upcoming activities, attractions and general information on why Trinidad and Tobago is a most attractive tourism destination.

The Minister of Tourism, the Honorable Chandresh Sharma, highlighted the current level of economic development of the country, the many indicators of affluence and growth, the presence of close to 400 multinational companies in operation, the attractiveness of the destination to foreign investors, the richness of the culture, the energy and the human experience, the recent visit by several Heads of State, the Prime Minister`s recent state visit to China, and the presence of more than 160 countries at our recently concluded Carnival.

The highlight of the press conference was the launch of Tobago`s German language website which caters to the valuable German-speaking markets which not only includes Germany, but also Austria and Switzerland. The website address is www.visittobago.de and this is aimed at the end consumer who wants to explore Tobago with the help of a digital travel guide.

Mrs. Tracy Davidson-Celestine also elaborated on Tobago`s rich history, its vibrant eco and nature based attributes, exciting watersports, serene beaches and festivals. The Secretary also took the opportunity to highlight a number of new and upcoming events which include the development of a Tobago Underwater Museum from sunken Dutch battleships in the Scarborough Harbor, and the Tobago Jazz Experience with headline acts such as John Legend, Earth Wind and Fire, Brandy and Keyshia Cole to be held from April 19th to 27th, 2014. She also revealed that the seventy nine suite Indigo Bay Resort Development is expected to be completed by mid-2015. Both the Minister and the Secretary highlighted the opportunities for hotel investment on both islands.

The press conference closed with the media being transported to destination Trinidad and Tobago with the sweet sounds of steel pan and the taste of our world renowned Trinidad rum and Tobago chocolate.
