Brazil confirms that they are flying to Seychelles to parade in the unique “Carnival of Carnivals” ( The world of carnivals is going to Seychelles for the unique and very popular “Carnival of Carnivals” that will be held from April 25-27. Last week the mid-ocean islands of the Seychelles announced that they had received confirmation that Notting Hill Carnival of the UK was sending a large delegation to their April Carnival. It is at this carnival that all the best carnivals of the world travel to annually parade together and where cultural troupes from the Community of Nations follow as they promote their country using culture and in so doing their people.

After Notting Hill Carnival of the UK, known as the biggest carnival in Europe, confirmed their participation to the 2014 edition of the Carnival International de Victoria in the Seychelles, it is today revealed that Brazil is also sending a strong delegation to the Seychelles. It is the “O Carnaval de Sao Paolo” from Sao Paolo, Brazil, who are themselves traveling to Seychelles for the coming carnival.

The carnival in Sao Paulo is one of the biggest in Brazil. This largest city in Latin America organizes annually one of the most important Brazilian cultural demonstration full of creativity and beauty. This is the 5 nights of parades for almost 120,000 people singing together at bleachers that remains a fascinating spectacle that attracts more and more people every year.

For the Carnaval International de Victoria that is held in Seychelles from April 25-27, a special delegation of 19 people that includes very top components of the main samba schools from Sao Paulo will be traveling to Seychelles to show the best of the Brazilian culture and traditions.

The group is formed by percussionists, singer, samba dancers, a master of ceremonies, and a flag bearer couple, who are traditional personages of the samba schools in Brazil. One of the members of the Brazilian group traveling to Seychelles this year is Mayara dos Santos, the actual Princess of the Sao Paulo Carnival.

The Brazilian delegation will be performing at different locations during carnival time in Seychelles in addition to the main parade in Victoria on Saturday, April 26. “We are sure that the rhythm of samba will take over the hearts of the Seychellois and visitors," a representative from the Brazil Carnival said.

The 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria in Seychelles is being co-hosted by the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands of the Seychelles, La Reunion, Madagascar, and Mayotte as well as by South Africa KwaZulu Natal.

“We are excited to celebrate life and the magic of carnival with all of you,” says Danniel Okamoto, from O Carnaval de Sao Paulo and Manager of the Brazilian delegation in a message to the Seychellois people.

The “O Carnaval de Sao Paulo” group is specialized in entertainment and it acts over the carnival thematic, using during their performances the four artistic languages: visual arts, theater, music, and dance.

Formed by choreographers, designers, dancers, and musicians, the group promotes shows, artistic interventions, and workshops all over Brazil and worldwide. They have participated in many events around the world representing the Brazilian carnival. They have also performed in big shows, such as the Black Eyed Peas World Tour in Brazil. More than shows or presentations, the group searches for the exchange of experiences, interacting, learning, and taking the expertise of carnival to everybody.
