China Spring Festival is this year celebrated in Seychelles as the first Seychelles-China Day Celebrations

China Spring Festival is this year celebrated in Seychelles as the first Seychelles-China Day Celebrations (Forimmediaterelease.net) Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, is decorated with Seychelles and China national flags, Chinese traditional lanterns are everywhere, and Benezet Street, the home of the Chinese Pagoda, has been turned into a small Chinatown all for the first-ever edition of the Seychelles-China Day Celebrations.

This year is 150 years since the first Chinese settlers landed in Seychelles to play their part in the building of these mid-ocean tropical islands. Today, the Seychelles Chinese population is very much integrated into the Creole culture and population.

The Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture worked alongside the Chinese Embassy in Seychelles and the local Chinese Association to bring these three days of celebrations to recognize the important part played by the Chinese community in country building and to say thank you. This celebration will now sit firmly on the list of annual national events.

The three days celebration program was unveiled this week:
