Open air dancing and the Moutya music performances will receive the support of the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture

Open air dancing and the Moutya music performances will receive the support of the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture (Forimmediaterelease.net) Last Friday night, SEYMAS, the Musician`s Association of Seychelles, organized an open-air dancing evening with the rhythm of moutya drums echoing the aspirations of the members of the island`s performing art.

Beau Vallon was packed with thousands to see the moutya performance as they danced happily on the sandy floor. Both tourists and Seychellois coming from all the corners of the island were present.

Patrick Victor, Jean-Marc Volcy, Johnise Juliette, to name but a few of the entertainers present, were joined by veterans like Fek Arive, Scale, and the younger generation to entertain Seychelles and the Seychellois.

When he arrived at the moutya musical show, Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, was invited by Johnise Juliette to say a few words to the thousands gathered. “Today again I see how much such moutya nights are appreciated. You are here in large numbers, and we can tell you that the Department of Culture of the Ministry will work with SEYMAS to continue to organize such open-air performances. It is important for us to all continue to support our musicians. I shall work with SEYMAS so that in the long-term we have a permanent venue for such open-air performances," Minister St.Ange said to great applause. The music show and the words of support echoed by the Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture was broadcast live on PURE FM Radio.

The evening was seen as a total success, and Minister Alain St.Ange congratulated SEYMAS and the musicians present for their commitment to the development and consolidation of Seychelles` traditional music.

Minister Jean-Paul Adam, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by the visiting Madagascar Minister for Foreign Affairs were also present, and they later joined Minister Alain St.Ange on stage.
