Charleston ranks as third most expensive US destination to spend New Year`s Eve (Forimmediaterelease.net) Charleston ranks among the most expensive U.S. destinations for this New Year`s Eve, based on the cost of its lodging. A new survey conducted by CheapHotels.org positioned the South Carolina seaport city number three among the nation`s costliest cities.

In Charleston, hotel guests will currently have to spend $339 to stay overnight in the most affordable double room on December 31. Only two destinations are even slightly more expensive: New York City and Miami Beach. There, New Year`s Eve celebrators will have to pay $354 and $360, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 is Las Vegas, where revelers can find a room from $215. That dollar figure ranks the Nevada resort city tenth most expensive overall. In terms of percentage rate hikes, however, the Entertainment Capital of the World is the priciest New Year`s Eve destination. Compared to regular rates, a hotel room in Las Vegas has soared +367% on December 31.

The following table lists the 10 most expensive destinations in the United States for New Year`s Eve. The rates shown reflect the price for the cheapest available double room (minimum: 3-star hotel) on December 31.
