Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort goes green ( LOS ANGELES, California - Green Globe announces certification of the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort in Punta Canta, in the Dominican Republic. For years, this luxury resort complex has been dedicated to meet the highest international standards in regards to the environment, conservation and corporate social responsibility.

“Going ‘Green’, has already resulted in significant savings of energy and natural resources at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort,” noted Green Globe’s CEO Guido Bauer during the official ceremony, held at the property last week. “Over the period of one year, water consumption was reduced by 8.2%, which equals 52 Olympic swimming pools, and CO2 emissions were cut down by 11,000 tons – equivalent to five round trip flights from Dubai to London.”
