Experience becomes product thanks to tourism start-up companies ( In order to please travelers it is nowadays essential to offer them memorable experiences. It’s an idea that has been out there for long now together with the unavoidable doubts about the possible solutions. And finally the first products to be launched on the market are being concretely shaped now. These products are the outcome of the vision by the new entrepreneurs who will meet from October 17 to 19 at TTG Next, a 600 m2 area that TTG Incontri – the main b2b tourism fair in Italy – dedicates to Start-up companies in the tourism industry.

What do tourism Start-Ups focus on?

Technology at the service of hyper-niches of users is the basic idea shared by all the projects: from the offer of high-end daytime hotel services for travelers to the apps that let users share the descriptions of places and events in order to create customized travel guidebooks; from the systems that, based on the price customers are willing to pay, are able to suggest destinations and travel options in line with their budget, to the creation of communities whose members are rewarded with complimentary trips. And also, apps for last minute allotment of unsold airline tickets, platforms selling typical craftsmanship and food&wine products, portals where to book art and culture-based products or those that let food lovers interested in knowing the cuisine of their holiday destination learn it first hand at the locals’ homes.

Mattia Corbetta, Spokesman of the Ministry for Economic Development, will participate in the initiative to provide innovative start-ups taking part, details about the scale of the incentives at their disposal starting right from the month of October and ending in 2016. These incentives comprise the deductibility, up to 25-27%, of the investments. The deductible investment cannot exceed the amount, for each tax year, of 500 thousand euros for individuals and 1.8 million for companies and has to be retained for at least two years.

The presentation will take place on Thursday, October 17 at 2.00 pm (Speakers’ Corner, Pav. C1)

An award for “green” Start-Ups

On the occasion of TTG Next, the CISET-Centro Internazionale di Studi sull’Economia Turistica (International Study Centre on the Economy of Tourism), in collaboration with E4T, will give an award to the three start-up companies that have managed to conjugate, in an original and innovative way, the themes of tourism mobility with new technologies and the care for the ‘green’ factor. The winners have been chosen by a varied jury, made up of over 130 entrepreneurs, institutions, associations, journalists and fans who gathered in Venice some months ago during the Touriscamp 2013, the first Italian BarCamp dedicated to ethical, responsible, accessible and green tourism.

The appointment with Tourismcamp is set for October 17 at 3:00 pm at the Speakers’ Corner.

Presentation of the National Association

On October 18 at 12:30 pm (Speakers’ Corner, pav. C1) TTG Incontri will host the presentation of the National Association of Tourism Start-Up Companies, established to gather those start-ups which show strong components of digital innovation in the field of tourism. The objective is to create interactions and collaborations among the members of the association and to provide opportunities for national and international exposure.
