Seychelles to stage music students’ concert to mark World Music Day

Seychelles to stage music students’ concert to mark World Music Day (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Seychelles National Conservatoire of Performing Arts has confirmed that it will be hosting its annual music students’ concert on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, 5:00 pm at ICCS (International Conference Centre of Victoria).

This event serves as a platform to exhibit the learning that has been going on since the beginning of the year. Initially programmed to be held in July but due to unforeseen circumstances it was cancelled and rescheduled on October 1, which is also WORLD MUSIC DAY. In the program will feature solo performers, duets, ensembles and the beginner orchestra.

World Music Day is a UNESCO declared international event in which many countries participate. The intention of the day is to encourage peace and friendship between people of various cultures and also to foster the exchange of experiences. Hence, the Seychelles National Conservatoire of Performing Arts is making use of this day to give some beginner music students the opportunity to exchange with parents, peers and the public the process they have embarked upon to develop skills which some knew they possess and some are gradually discovering that within them are hidden talents that need to be nurtured and developed.

Therefore the public is invited to this Free Entrance event where they could give their encouragement and support to the seedlings that could in the future contribute towards advancement of culture in this country and the world. The Press is also invited for coverage of the event.
