Jude Ally, an icon of the creative Industry, returns to Seychelles as a gold medalist of the Jeux de la Francophonie

Jude Ally, an icon of the creative Industry, returns to Seychelles as a gold medalist of the Jeux de la Francophonie (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Seychelles team who participated at the 2013 “Jeux de la Francophonie” has returned home from Nice, France, with a gold and a silver medal. A ministerial delegation headed by Vincent Meriton, the designated and Minister for Community Development Youth and Sport; Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, and Professor Rolph Payet, the Minister for Environment and Energy, joined together to welcome home Jude Ally, the gold medal winning artist, and Emma Cadeau, the silver medal winner for an environmental project.

With their gold and silver medals draped around their necks, Jude Ally and Emma Cadeau spoke of their achievements as being the proudest moment of their life. Jude said that the success of the gold medal was helped by the experience gained in his first participation of “Jeux de la Francophonie” in Lebanon 2009.

“My first participation in Jeux de La Francophonie four years ago was a test. I’ve brushed up my painting skills and techniques to meet the standards of the game and the gold medal proved that I’ve successfully accomplished my mission,” Jude said, adding that after this “Jeux de la Francophonie’’ he will now keep focusing on his painting.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, said that Jude's success should help to stimulate more young people to take up the creative industry.

“Today, Jude has shown that we can, even as a small country, go out into the world and showcase what Seychelles does at its best. Our creative industry today needs to be further enhanced, and I hope that Jude becomes the role model for more young people to start creating. This is what we need to do to ensure that the base of our industry is solid. Through the creative industry, we can have more to offer our visitors,” Alain St.Ange, Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, said.

Minister St.Ange said that Jude is now an icon for Seychelles. Emma Cadeau was in Nice to represent SALS and collected the silver medal for a water conservation project. Emma said that she was “honored to raise Seychelles flag high at the games.” The Seychelles delegation that landed at the international airport also included Urny Mathiot, who competed in the “Jeux de la Francophonie” photography category, and a group of Hip Hop artists. The delegation was headed by PS Denis Rose.
