Four Seasons Resort Seychelles will maintain an open-door policy for its workers (Forimmediaterelease.net) Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, met with the Four Seasons Resort Management team in Seychelles to touch base on some of the concerns brought forward to his Ministry by a group of the resort's security workers.

Chairing the meeting in the presence of Alex Porteous, the General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, Minister Alain St.Ange said that it was important for his Ministry to come to the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles to seek clarity on matters raised.

“We’ve heard the concerns of a group of security workers. We were surprised by some of the points raised, because these issues have never been raised by staff at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. Over the years, we’ve worked with Four Seasons Resort, and they have set a good benchmark in the industry as leaders in employee development and succession. In the past, we’ve hailed Four Seasons Resort’s employee development program and recognized the resort’s recruitment process of placing Seychellois in front-line positions and the resort’s localization plan,” Minister Alain St.Ange said.

Sherin Naiken, the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, who met the group of security workers together with Minister Alain St.Ange and Anne Lafortune, the Principal Secretary of Tourism, tabled to the Resort's GM and his team the points raised by the group of security workers.

Alex Porteous, the General Manager of Four Seasons Seychelles, explained to the Minister and his delegation that the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles’ platform of communication is in place with all the staff in a direct line format each month which allows them to take up all issues related to their work. This is in place additionally to the monthly departmental meetings that are chaired by each of the department heads.

“Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has always maintained the Golden Rule in all of their 93 properties, and this is an engrained culture and values of the company that has now been in operation for 52 years globally. Our doors are always open for our employees,” said Alex Porteous. Four Seasons Resort Seychelles employs 416 people out of which 277 are Seychellois and 139 expatriates. Alex Porteous said that the hotel also hosts Town Hall meetings quarterly as an information sharing event regarding the resort’s performance and also to share information on employee development and experience activities.

The Four Season's General Manager has invited Minister Alain St.Ange and his team to attend the next resort’s Town Hall meeting with all the employees.
