Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation moves operation to La Digue Island for “Lafet La Digue” 2013

Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation moves operation to La Digue Island for “Lafet La Digue” 2013 ( The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) moved its FM Radio operations to La Digue Island for the duration of the island's August 15 Feast of the Assumption.

Many of the presenters on the radio's popular station were on La Digue to broadcast nationwide from a makeup studio right in the heart of La Passe at La Digue. Mr. Antoine Onezime, the CEO of the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation, was personally on hand to oversee his operations which has again helped make the La Digue Feast the success it deserved to be.

For the last three years, the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) has been partnering with the Seychelles Tourism Board for helping with the August 15 La Digue Feast of the Assumption. They have helped create the ambience at La Passe where their temporary studio had been set up. But broadcasting live from La Digue Island, the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) has also created a nationwide buzz about the island feast which resulted in more revelers descending on La Digue than ever before.

Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, and Mrs. Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and her Celebrate Seychelles Events Department were also on La Digue working with the Island's Organizing Committee for the August 15 Feast.

Minister St.Ange said when he was interviewed live on the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation FM Radio Station that he was thankful to Mr. Onezime, the CEO of the Broadcasting Corporation, and to his team of presenters and technicians for their continued support for the event. “The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation remains a partner of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Seychelles Tourism Board. You help make not only the La Digue Island annual August 15 feast the success the Diguois expect it to be, but you continue to stand with us to make all the events on our calendar of activities come alive as a true partner. For this we say thank you SBC," the Tourism and Culture Minister said.
