Your commitment to be seen and to be counted as one of our island's entities believing in the world of Creoles say a lot, and for that, the Ministry says a big thank you,” Ms. Benjamin Rose said.

Laserenad is one of the popular Festival Kreol flagship activities. It is a colorful parade with a strong expressive dimension declining different aspects of Creole culture. Laserenad 2013 will take place on Saturday, October 26, in the afternoon. It will start from the compound of the National Cultural center through the Francis Rachel Road and finish around the clock tower and Freedom Square with Pipili, a traditional dance ensemble, performed by around 400 members of youth groups.

Ms. Rose explained in detail the concept of Laserenad 2013 and its expected impacts. She added that Laserenad is a tangible opportunity for Seychellois people to give Victoria its rightful recognition as the “Capital of the Creole World.”

Ms. Rose said: “When each organization, each institution, each enterprise, each group participates in this Laserenad 2013 with 10, 15, 20 people, we will be altogether more than a couple of thousands, who not only will express this ‘joie de vivre Creole’ that we all wanted, but above all, we will mark Victoria as the ‘Capital of the Creole world.’"

From their side, some representatives were asked questions related to their logistical needs. Ms. Rose has assured them that a schedule of meetings on logistical and technical aspects of Laserenad will be soon communicated to the participants. Each institution or company representative present has been informed to complete and return the Laserenad registration form given to officially confirm their participation.

This first meeting on Laserenad was closed on a high note of determination for the success of Laserenad 2013.
