Seychelles Tourism Minister join representatives of the island's musician association to visit two artists in North East Point Hospital (Forimmediaterelease.net) Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, who was being accompanied by Ms. Benjamine Rose, his PS for Culture, joined Mr. Ralph Amesbury, Ms. Joenise Juliette, and Ms. Michelle Marengo from SEYMAS, the association that regroups the musicians of the Seychelles, and Mr. Jimmy Savy, the CEO of the Seychelles Arts Council (NAC), to pay a visit last Friday to the North East Point Hospital to meet with the known artists, Mr. Patrick Octave and Mr. Vincent Isaac, the popular musicians from the island's National Troupe.

Minister St.Ange said that it was his duty and his responsibility to stand with the island's association that represents local musicians when they are working in the interest off their members. “Visiting a sick member is a noble cause and one that needs to be encouraged. The Chairman of SEYMAS, Mr. Ralph Amesbury, and his committee are working close with the Ministry responsible for Culture for greater recognition of the island's musicians. Together we can achieve what was deemed impossible before in what is today being referred to as the cultural revolution in Seychelles," Minister St.Ange said.

The Minister responsible for Culture went on to say that when “A member of SEYMAS who is convalescing in a medical institution, he needs to know that he is out of sight on a day-to-day basis, but not out of mind. I salute Mr. Amesbury and his colleagues from the Association of Musicians for the initiative to organize this joint visit to the North East Point Hospital in conjunction with my Ministry and with Mr. Jimmy Savy, the CEO of the National Arts Council," Minister Alain St.Ange said.

The Ministerial delegation said that they felt that both Mr. Patrick Octave and Mr. Vincent Isaac are recuperating well, and in the discussions with both patients, they expressed their desire to have the artists back on the road.

A week ago, Mrs. Marietta Matombe and members of the National Troupe at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture also paid a visit to the hospital and entertained the patients when they performed for Mr. Vincent Isaac, their hospitalized colleague and musician of the island's National Troupe.
