Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, on La Reunion TV - Face A L'Eco of Antenne Reunion

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, on La Reunion TV - Face A L'Eco of Antenne Reunion (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism&Culture, Mr. Alain St.Ange, who is on Reunion Island for a working visit, was the guest on the popular and very respected “Face A L'Eco” program on Antenne Reunion Television.

Minister St.Ange was the guest of Ms. Sabrina Supervielle, the very popular presenter of Antenne Reunion TV.

On his arrival at the Studio of Antenne Reunion, Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles was greeted by Mr. Eric Fontaine, the Redacteur en Chef TV-Radio-Web of Antenne Reunion. Mr. Fontaine, has personally visited the Seychelles where he met with the island's Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture.

Minister Alain St.Ange was on La Reunion TV’s “Face A L'Eco” program to talk about the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Regional Organization, the body he was re-elected to lead as the President. This was only days ago when he participated in the extraordinary Minister's Meeting of the Indian Ocean Islands that took place during the International Tourism Fair 2013 of Madagascar.

Seychelles is the only Indian Ocean island today showing a positive growth in their visitor arrival numbers. The week-on-week, year-to-date figure is showing a growth of 15% over the same period when other destinations are facing difficult times and increase challenges for their private sector which is prompting some of the islands to be desperately running around dropping rates and in so doing cheapening the destination and the region.

Seychelles, as a destination, prides itself in recording well over 2 times of its total population in visitor arrival numbers, and over 4 times of its adult working population. “These comparative statistics shows a rare success for the smallest island of the Indian Ocean. Tourism is also the pillar of our country's economy. This we have achieved, because we have remained true to the plan of action drafted with the island's private sector to follow a personalized tourism approach and to distance the island from mass tourism and charter flights," the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism says.

On the La Reunion Television program, Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles emphasized the need for the islands of the Indian Ocean region to be united and to be committed to the spirit of togetherness. He spoke with sincerity on the need for the islands of the region to be united under the Vanilla Islands banner. “United we can make a strong and relevant tourism region. This will help the tourism industry of each of our islands, this will help the economy of our respective islands, and this will create employment for the people of each and every island of the Indian Ocean region," the Seychelles Minister said.
