Following on from its very successful 2012 edition of the International Tourism Fair Madagascar, expectations were high for increased participation at the 2013 edition of the fair now recognized as a Vanilla Islands event. Christina Cecile and Valerie Payet from the Seychelles Tourism Board Marketing Department were on hand to dish out information on the Seychelles and on its unique selling points.

The Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, who is also the President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Regional Organization, Alain St.Ange also spent time at the Seychelles stand at ITM of Madagascar. “Being in Madagascar is a show of solidarity and togetherness. We believe in regional partnership and are here to help push the region’s tourism industry forward,” said Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles.

Madagascar welcomed some 27 tour operators from France, Russia, the UK, and Germany, and they all made time to visit the Vanilla Islands stands to discuss cooperation and to get better acquainted with the different islands. For Seychelles it was an opportunity to meet some new tour operators who are not already selling the islands and push Seychelles to be their new destination.
