Seychelles Tourism Board and Emirates workshop held for tour operators a welcomed initiative

Seychelles Tourism Board and Emirates workshop held for tour operators a welcomed initiative ( The first workshop held by Emirates Airlines in collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board is an initiative that has been well received by all the participating tour operators and Seychelles local partners, DMCs, and hoteliers who were in attendance. The one-day workshop started with a welcome note by Denise Rassool Sales Manager, Emirates Seychelles office, followed by Elsia Grandcourt, the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

A destination presentation was done which was followed by a video showing the three days of festivities centered around the annual Carnaval International de Victoria that is staged in the Seychelles and to which Emirates is the official partner airline.

Tour operators from Denmark, UK, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Kuwait, Dubai, and France then broke away for one-on-one sessions with the local destination management companies, hoteliers, the Tourism Board, and Emirates sales and pricing team to discuss market opportunities, exchange market intelligence and consumer needs, and explore special deals and business ventures/opportunities and challenges and short comings they are faced with in promoting the Seychelles destination. Important findings and discussions that require follow-up will be taken by both Emirates and the Tourism Board.

Before ending the workshop, Emirates and the Seychelles Tourism Board listened to feedback from the local operators on the workshop. Everyone was in agreement that it is a great initiative and appreciates this approach of partnership and developing the relationship between the airline, tourism board, and tourism partners (DMCs, hoteliers).

The local partners even requested that Emirates consider doing this initiative on a more frequent basis with them as they will be keen to share with them and explore areas of potential in developing the destination and various markets.

The next workshop is confirmed for June 11 with tour operators from Asia, India, and other markets.
