This came as no surprise as these tourism-dependant islands, known as the world’s most romantic destination, provide unrivaled swimming and an all-year-round climate with a perpetual summer.

The accolade comes as a testament to Seychelles’ star appeal for honeymoons and celebrities in search of peace, tranquility, and breathtaking seascapes. The endless coves with immaculate, powder-white sandy beaches, lapped with dazzling turquoise blue waters are the ideal picture-perfect postcard shots prized the world over. These secluded secret hideaways have attracted numerous beach aficionados such as British Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, among many other celebrities.

Speaking to the press as he was addressing the opening of the International Tourism Fair Madagascar, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism&Culture, Mr. Alain St.Ange, said, “Seychelles markets itself as ‘Another World.’ Our stunning beaches that are clean and white are one of these attributes that make us live up to this slogan. Our beaches are different because of the diversity of our islands that make up the Seychelles archipelago. Our granitic mid-ocean islands and our flat coral islands both provide the diverse range of beaches and hideaway coves to suit the discerning traveler’s quest for the perfect beach.”

NO. 1: GRANDE ANSE BEACH, LA DIGUE ISLAND, SEYCHELLES

Secluded and easy to skip because it takes some effort to get here, Grand Anse on La Digue is the archetypal beach, the benchmark against which others must be judged. It's a must, especially if you're a surfer.

WORTH KNOWING: The waves can be boisterous and there's not much shade.

NO. 4: ANSE SOURCE D’ARGENT, LA DIGUE, SEYCHELLES

This ribbon of sand on the Seychelles' third-largest island, La Dique, mixes salt-white and flamingo-pink sands to create one of the most photographed beaches in the world. A reef keeps the water calm for good snorkeling.

HIGHLIGHTS: Nearby restaurant Lanbousir offers local Creole dishes, including a tempting fruit-bat curry. DIY eaters can fix their own picnic with food from a supermarket just five minutes from the beach.
