Seychelles Tourism Academy documentation center benefits from ISPC

Seychelles Tourism Academy documentation center benefits from ISPC ( The Seychelles Tourism Academy walked away with 115,266 rupees (US$9,736) donated by ISPC Seychelles, a hotel catering company based in Seychelles. The money was collected during a gala dinner at La Plage restaurant organized in March 2013 as part of the Seychelles National Culinary Contest, and it will go towards the financing of a documentation center at theSeychelles Tourism Academy.

The documentation center will be a first for the Seychelles Tourism Academy and will contain a collection of pictures and documents tracing the history of the Academy since 2007 when it was officially transfer under the auspices of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

The Principal of Seychelles Tourism Academy, Flavien Joubert, said that it is “important for the academy to put into good use the money to build a living history documentation center serving as an educational tool for students.”

Mr. Joubert said that the donation for the necessary funds for the setting up of this documentation center highlighted the “close partnership that has been forged between the Seychelles Tourism Academy and the private sector trade partners of the tourism industry.”

When presenting the check to the Seychelles Tourism Academy, Alfred Fourcroy, Chief Executive of ISPC, thanked the Seychelles Tourism Academy for believing in the National Culinary Contest and said that he hoped that the money will go a long way to facilitate the life of the young people studying at the academy and to move the academy forward.

For the third consecutive year, ISPC, in partnership with Seychelles Tourism Academy, has shaped the National Culinary Contest into a coveted cooking contest for professionals and young chefs. A contest which Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, who was present at the donation ceremony, said was showcasing the island’s new talents.

Minister Alain St.Ange congratulated ISPC’s Chief Executive Officer and his team for making the National Culinary Contest possible, and outlined that the donation is proof of the good relationship developed between the Seychelles Tourism Academy and ISPC Seychelles.

The check worth 115,266 rupees was donated in the presence of Sherin Renaud, Principal Secretary of Tourism; Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Elsia Grandcourt; and officers of ISPC Seychelles and the Seychelles Tourism Academy.
