Seychelles meets the press as never before at this Indaba 2013 in South Africa

Seychelles meets the press as never before at this Indaba 2013 in South Africa ( The Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Alain St.Ange, left South Africa saying that this year’s INDABA has been a real success especially with the extensive coverage the islands received from both the South African and the foreign press.

“It all started for us with an invitation for me to join South Africa’s Tourism Minister, Mr. Marthinus van Schalkwyk, on the very the popular SABC2 Morning Live TV program on Friday just before the Official Opening of the INDABA 2013. This was a real honor to be present on the popular SABC2 Morning Live TV, the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation's channel that is not only a popular TV program with a big nationwide following, but also the one watched by the South Africans who are most likely to travel outside South Africa for a holiday. The calls and messages received after this TV program surpassed all our expectations," the Seychelles Minister said at INDABA.

Minister Alain St.Ange was then to meet the News and Business Anchor person for eNCA TV, Ms. Eleni Giokos, when he appeared on the news program for a live interview. Appearing for a live interview on this South African nationwide news channel on their main 7:00 pm news was another publicity coup for the islands, and this was followed the next day by an interview by Mr. Komla Dumor, the Presenter of BBC News. This interview took place at the Seychelles stand at the INDABA tourism trade fair in Durban, and it centered on the recent successes by the islands to be listed as the first in Sub Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean by the World Economic Report. The BBC Presenter wanted to know what Seychelles was doing right in the world of tourism that was not being done by other destinations of the region.

The Seychelles Minister was also interviewed by a series of print media and also by BBC Radio and by RFI Radio by Miss Gaelle Laleix from Paris, France.

“We have received through these interviews great visibility for our islands, and we have been able to ensure that Seychelles remains the relevant tourism destination it is," Minister Alain St.Ange said.
