This South Africa Broadcasting Corporation channel is a popular TV program with a big nationwide following.

The live interview filmed at the Heritage&Cultural Pavilion at the Durban Exhibition Center was the opportunity for the Tourism Ministers from South Africa and the Seychelles to discuss strategic partnerships between the two countries.

Minister van Schalkwyk of South Africa spoke about the importance of INDABA, the African Tourism Trade Fair that is staged annually in Durban, and Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles on his part said that the time had arrived for this tourism fair to be seen at the African Tourism Fair where Africa as a whole showcases itself to the world.

Minister Alain St.Ange also said that Africa must work with Africa if Africa is to be strong and attract its fair share of the tourism trade. The Seychelles Minister used the opportunity of that live television interview to present his island’s unique double coconut, called the Coco-de-Mer, to the South African Minister accompanied by a “Seychelles, the Coco-de-Mer” book written and published by the Minister himself.

Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk announced the planned signature of an MOU between Seychelles and South Africa in August which is set to reinforce the existing partnership and cooperation between the two countries. This same statement was also stressed on by the Seychelles Minister Alain St.Ange as he announced the recent codeshare agreement between South African Airlines (SAA) and Air Seychelles, making it possible for South Africans to travel to Seychelles with an SAA airline ticket with this connecting to the flight to Seychelles from any originating point in South Africa.
