Hong Kong journalists impressed by Seychelles ( Journalists from Hong Kong were at the center of a cultural night at La Plaine St. Andre for a unique blend of Seychelles’ cultural food and traditional music.
Twelve journalists from Shanghai and Hong Kong are in Seychelles to discover the islands and to help increase the visibility of Seychelles in Hong Kong, China and in Asia. This visit will enable the journalists to experience Seychelles as the new holiday destination for Hong Kong residents and for the Chinese holiday makers. Following last week's Air Seychelles launch of its weekly flights to Hong Kong, Seychelles is being reported in the press in Hong Kong as the new dream destination.

The twelve journalists visiting Seychelles are having a first-hand experience of Seychelles as THE new tourist destination, and to get a personal experience of one of the planet’s most stunning getaway tropical islands. Welcoming the journalists to Seychelles, Alain St.Ange, the Minister for Tourism and Culture, said that by spreading the word about the beauty of the Seychelles in Hong Kong these journalists will become the islands’ voice in the Asian market.

“I am happy with the comments I’ve received that you find Seychelles different as a tourism destination, as opposed to any other island destinations. I hope that this visit will be the opportunity for you to savor this unique experience of being as close to paradise as you will ever be. I also hope that when you get back home, you will tell the people in Hong Kong that Seychelles is truly another world,” the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture said.

Minister St.Ange went on to state that the new weekly flights to Hong Kong has opened new doors for air connectivity for Seychelles to the Asian market. “Your presence in Seychelles is a good opportunity for you to not only learn about the destination, but also to encourage networking among different tourism partners of our respective countries,” said Minister St.Ange.

Journalists present at La Plaine Andre for the cultural night said that Seychelles is the ideal destination for the Hong Kong market as it offers a diversification of products to suit every segment of the population.
