Zambia uses carnival in Seychelles to push the coming UNWTO General Assembly in Africa

Zambia uses carnival in Seychelles to push the coming UNWTO General Assembly in Africa ( Zambia tourism was in Seychelles last week to showcase their rich African culture and their people at the annual Carnaval International de Victoria. The Zambia delegation was headed by Minister Keith A. Mukata, the Deputy Minister for Culture and Arts. The Minister was accompanied by a strong delegation from the Zambia Tourism Board and by a cultural troupe from the heart of Zambia’s culture.

The decision to have Zambia participate at the 2013 February carnival in Seychelles was taken by their Minister for Tourism and Arts, Mrs. Sylvia T. Masebo, following a meeting with Mr. Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, during FITUR, the Spanish Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid just weeks ago.

The Zambian delegation addressed the press briefing and presented not only the beauty of Zambia and their majestic waterfall, but they also used the forum and their presence in the carnival parade to showcase the coming UNWTO General Assembly of August which will be jointly hosted by Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The large bank of international press covering the 2013 carnival in Seychelles commented on the uniqueness of the Zambian culture and the beauty of their waterfall.

Minister Mukata of Zambia left Seychelles with his delegation set to develop a new working cooperation with Seychelles with the air of developing a MOU for signature later this year.
