Brazil carnival delegation ready to impress in Seychelles

Brazil carnival delegation ready to impress in Seychelles ( Seychelles has seen the arrival of Brazil's “Rosas de Ouro Samba Dancers and Drummers” delegation early this morning for the 2013 edition of the annual Carnaval International de Victoria that is staged in Seychelles.

This year for the first time Brazil has come out in full force, remaining true to its roots, with their most intricate group the “Rosas de Ouro Samba Dancers and Drummers.” The group is from the renowned and very popular Samba School “Rosas de Ouro” who are bringing with them the Brazilian carnival spirit in all its glory to the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands.

“We are a small group from the Rosas de Ouro Samba school, and it is our first time that we will be representing Brazil in the Carnaval International de Victoria in Seychelles. We are very excited about everything, and we are very happy to be here," said the Brazilian delegation's representative.

This has been achieved through the hard work of Alain St.Ange, the Minister of Tourism and Culture, as well as by Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and David Germain, her Director for Africa and the Americas, who have all been working very hard in making this dream come true for many Seychellois.

“The first time we heard of Seychelles was from the Tourism Board's representative in Brazil; we thought Seychelles was paradise from what we had heard, and now we have seen it for ourselves. We are very excited to showcase our culture to the Seychelles people,” added the Brazilian representative.

This is the first Carnaval International de Victoria for the “Rosas de Ouro Samba Dancers and Drummers.” The Brazilians said that they will not only thrill the audience, but that they are set to do them with an exquisite display of samba, which will be followed by the drummers.

“I hope we are going to win the best foreign delegation prize, as we will perform the Rio Brazilians’ samba and everybody is going to be amazed with our samba. We have performed all over the world: South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa,” said the Brazilian representative.

According to the Seychelles Tourism Board Senior Marketing Executive, Amia Jovanovic-Desir: “While they were traveling to the hotel, the Brazilians were singing and playing samba music. It was nice to know that they are already enjoying themselves and happy to be in Seychelles.”
