Africa tourism subject of recent discussions by South Africa and Seychelles Tourism Ministers ( Minister Marthinus Van Schalkwyk, South Africa’s Minister for Tourism, and Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, met at the last FITUR Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid, Spain, and together discussed the INDABA Tourism Trade Fair of South Africa and the Carnaval International de Victoria that is staged annually in the Seychelles, among other different points touching tourism marketing and promotion of tourism on the continent of Africa.

South Africa annually stages today INDABA, the biggest African Tourism Trade Fair in Durban, and this trade fair sees more and more tourism authorities from African tourism destinations coming forward to showcase their country’s unique selling points. Seychelles on the other hand, with the help of different co-hosts, stages annually the Carnaval International de Victoria where countries from the Community of Nations are invited to showcase their country through their culture and people as they fly there in front of the world press. This carnival is today known as the “carnival of carnivals” and remains the only such event where the best and most known carnivals of the world descent on Seychelles to parade side by side followed by cultural groups from the Community of Nations.

Both African Tourism Ministers agreed to continue discussions on increased cooperation between the two countries.
