Seychelles Tourism Academy opens new avenues of cooperation with Oman Hotel and Tourism College ( Seychelles Tourism Academy and Oman Tourism College signed the existing Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation exchanges between both institutions. The Principal of Seychelles Tourism Academy, Flavien Joubert, was recently on an official educational mission in Oman to renew with the higher authorities of Oman Tourism College an existing Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2002 opening up new avenues of exchanges between both academic and tourism establishments.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Principal of Seychelles Tourism Academy, Flavien Joubert, and Dr. Shoba of the Oman Tourism College, witnessed by a Seychelles Tourism Academy delegation and Omani delegation. The Principal of Seychelles Tourism Academy, Flavien Joubert, said that the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding “will provide opportunities for Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) students to follow courses at the Oman Tourism College (OTC) and Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) lecturers to follow internship courses on an exchange program” adding that “it will also make available opportunities for Seychellois hospitality professionals working in hotels and restaurants to go on work attachment in Oman's 6- and 7-star hotels through Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) for exposures to another level of hospitality standards and clientele.”

Seychelles Tourism Academy delegation’s official mission in Oman resulted into discussions with the Undersecretary of Oman Tourism, the Director General for Tourism, and the Advisor to the Minister of Tourism. Her Excellency extended a formal invitation for Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, and the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism, Board Elsia Grandcourt, to head a delegation for an official mission in Oman.

Mr. Flavien Joubert delivered a second invitation to the Minister for an official visit in Oman by the Vice President of Oman, the government entity which owns luxury 7-star hotels and leisure centers, following his meeting with Mr. Abdul Wahhid Alfarsi. Mr. Joubert also met with the high authorities from the Oman Ministry of Fisheries which deliberated into an invitation to the Seychelles Minister responsible for Agriculture and Fisheries, Peter Sinon, and his delegation to visit Oman for talks of possible cooperation between Seychelles and Oman. The Seychelles Tourism Academy’s official educational mission in Oman was organized by the Seychelles Honorary Consul in Oman, Sheik Said bin Nasser Al Khusaibi.
