Seychelles Culture Department rewards its staff’s achievements ( Long-service recognition awards were presented to Assistant Librarian, Stella Bradbrun of the Children’s Library, and Research Assistant, Bertilda Walter of the Heritage Research and Protection, who both have accomplished twenty-five years of service. Presenting the awards at the end-of-the-year staff lunch, the Seychelles Minister of Tourism and Culture congratulated the two employees for their achievements.

The Principal Secretary of Culture, Ms. Benjamine Rose, presented the outstanding performance award to the cleaners. Cecile Camille received an award for the best overall performance. In second place was Christianne Octobre, and in third place was Nadege Dugasse.

Shields for part-time instructors at the Conservatoire of Performing Arts were given to nine recipients. They are Georges Payet, Maxwell Pool, Kathleen Ernesta, Chad Cedras Darren, Bonnelame Denis, Rose Camillia, Jean Louis, Eddy Rose, and Mariza Matombe.

Staff attaining good grades in training and studies in 2011 received certificates of recognition. Najoie Philoe received an award for her distinction in Certificate in Office Management. She also gained top marks in her IGCSE English examination.

Addressing the workers of the Culture Department, Minister St.Ange praised the staff for their remarkable work throughout the year and thanked them for their support.

“As we close the year 2012, we must reflect on our achievements and set targets for 2013. Through your support and collaborative approach, we will make it for another successful year,” said Minister St.Ange.

Minister St.Ange also spoke about the changes he would introduce in 2013, based on the recommendations taken recently at the staff sectorial meeting. The Minister also thanked everyone for their devotion towards their work, stating that each and every one of them is a professional in his/her respective field and that he hopes the enthusiasm is one that will continue to grow for the betterment of the ministry and also for employees’ personal growth.
