Discovering America all over again: Bit takes part in Visit USA
Entry by the largest Italian trade fair on the theme of tourism represents a turning point in the growth of Visit USA, whose particular strength is uniting all the sector’s public and private players at a single table, from Italy and abroad, including tour operators, hotel chains, agencies, local tourist boards, and representative offices, which are active within the Italian marketplace.
“Membership to Visit USA,” commented Marco Serioli, Exhibitions Divisions Director for Fiera Milano, “is yet further the confirmation of BIT's ability to pull the sector together, transforming constant dialogue between all the industry players into real business opportunities for trade members: both regards Italian products (which continue to be Bit’s strength) and increasingly for overseas products, which identify and propose opportunities across the globe for both Italian and international trade members. This philosophy, much in synch with that of Visit USA, is based on meetings and discussions between different units, but focusing on a single segment and aiming for both development and growth.
“We are pleased to add BIT Fiera di Milano to our members,” stated Sandro Saccocciom, Visit USA (Italy), Association President, “it’s a wonderful company who has always been associated with the trade fair’s historical brand and with international tourism, and personally, I am proud to introduce these new members into this great organization."
In close collaboration with the US Commercial Service and BRAND USA, Visit USA promotes the meeting of Italian demand and US supply, organizes training sessions and subject in-depth examination, and guarantees a complete and updated tourism structure, in particular via the web and new media.
The American tourist market in Italy registered an increase of 6% on 2011, with over 892,000 visitors, a record figure reached for the second year in a row. For the USA, Italy is the 11th market on an international scale, and 4th in Europe. Furthermore, with spending at over US$4.1 billion, Italy claims the title of biggest spender in Europe for tourism services in the USA, and one of the biggest spenders on a world scale, too. Bit 2013 will be held at the trade fair district of Rho from Thursday, February 14-Sunday, February 17, 2013.
