Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture privy to new act by Despilly William, the renowned islands’ veteran singer

Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture privy to new act by Despilly William, the renowned islands’ veteran singer ( Despilly William, who earned a deserving reputation as a veteran singer, is shooting a commercial DVD designed to attract more visitors to Seychelles. The one-and-a-half minute “Bonzour Sesel” DVD which focuses on promoting the sights and sounds of Seychelles along with the energy and vibrancy of the city as a world-class tourism destination could give an additional plus to visitors planning a holiday to Seychelles.

Despilly William’s DVD incorporates music, and the concept is based from the “Des in Paradise” DVD released in 1999 with track listings of about nine popular hits. In “Bonzour Sesel,” Des uses newly-released successes that appear on his soundtrack with the backdrop of the sunset and the Seychelles High Speed Inter Island Ferry, the Cat Cocos.

“Madanm Zebi” and his other new release, “Soukous” track, was filmed at the Victoria Commercial Shipping House and it brings out Despilly William’s major strength as a “Seychelles Soukous Master.” The many sites and sceneries of Seychelles islands such as Eden Island, Le Domaine de L’Orangerie Hotel on La Digue island, and Anse Major beach in the north of Mahe will also feature on the DVD.

This week, Despilly William called on the Seychelles Minister for Tourism&Culture, Mr. Alain St.Ange and his team at the National Cultural Center to get them to hear his song “Catherine.”

Despilly William and his producer used his visit at the National Cultural Center to shoot footage for the new DVD. This will show Despilly William walking in the Ministry’s premises warmly welcomed by Culture Department staff and continues with Despilly William shaking hands with Minister Alain St.Ange. This impromptu act ends with Despilly armed with his acoustic guitar singing his song “Catherine” as surprised Minister St. Ange, the Principal Secretary of Culture, Benjamine Rose, and the Special Advisor to the Minister, Raymonde Onezime, looked on.

Commenting on his visit to the National Cultural Center, Despilly William explained that “he fosters a good relationship with Minister St.Ange dating way back,” and as a veteran singer and an “old friend of the Minister,” he feels that “he had to play his part to make a positive contribution to the country’s tourism industry.”

“Bonzour Sesel is the ideal promotional DVD to be used as a marketing tool for Seychelles,” said Despilly William. The DVD will be completed in two months’ time. Meanwhile, Despilly William is appealing to tourism establishments and companies who wish to appear in the promotional DVD to contact him on 2729029.
