Sunken ships provide for unbelievable dives in Seychelles says Imran Ahmad

Sunken ships provide for unbelievable dives in Seychelles says Imran Ahmad ( The ship Aldebran was seized in Seychelles waters by the Seychelles Coast Guard for illegal fishing. Abandoned by the owners after legal proceedings, the Seychelles Tourism Board acquired the vessel to commemorate SUBIOS, their Festival of the Sea theme for that year, “Wrecks as Ocean Habitats.”

“What’s great about the Aldebran is the location she was sunk in. Just a mere 15-minute boat ride off the coast of Willie’s Bay in the northwest of Mahe, you will find world-class diving. At 40 meters, she is fully intact and teeming with marine life and coral growth. With visibilty for as far as your eye can see, this site is a definite ‘MUST’ dive for wreck lovers,” Imran Ahmad said.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture said when he received Mr. Imran Ahmad in his offices at the National Cultural Center in Victoria that he was impressed by the pictures taken by Mr. Ahmad during his Seychelles visit. “Your dive books are collector’s items, because your pictures are really exceptional. We thank you for allowing us to use your many pictures shot in Seychelles, and we look forward to being in your company when you launch your new dive book dedicated to pictures taken in Seychelles. We cannot wait for the 2013 edition of SUBIOS, the Seychelles Festival of the Sea, for the launch of this latest book of yours which we are sure will become another collector’s item,” Minister St.Ange said.
