The Tryall Club, Montego Bay: Jamaica’s premier resort achieves Green Globe re-certification ( LOS ANGELES, California - Green Globe announced re-certification of the Tryall Club Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. For the past few years, Jamaica’s premier private club has taken a proactive role in preserving and protecting nature in all its forms. Tryall Club’s community outreach and social responsibility programs did outstanding work, promoting awareness and educating locals on environmental practices on all levels.

“The Tryall Club is committed to maintaining environmental sustainability in our first-rate, villa-resort, especially with regards to waste management and energy conservation, said Gerald Giarla, Managing Director at the Tryall Club, “Achieving the prestigious Green Globe re-certification exemplifies that luxury can be compatible with sustainability. We take great pride in contributing to Jamaica's tourism, and earning this accreditation again proves our continued efforts to make green choices for global environmental preservation."

A long-term Sustainability Management System is in effect at the Tryall Club, and the property was one of the first in Jamaica to introduce a recycling program. An independent water facility and treatment plant makes the grounds and golf course the finest in the Caribbean. Guests are encouraged to join local environmental and community-related activities, such as the monthly beach clean-up day. The entire Tryall team benefits from some of the best job training, as well as health and safety programs available in Jamaica. A special Green Team, formed of a group of employees from different departments and various responsibilities, monitors the progress of green measures, shaping and realizing the resort’s environmental goals. To complement the existing eco-friendly ground management system, the Tryall Club is currently developing an organic garden.

Green Globe Certification’s CEO, Guido Bauer, commented: “We are extremely pleased to award re-certification to the Tryall Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica. This property sets benchmarks with their outstanding efforts and dedication to sustainable development in Jamaica. I am very impressed with the Tryall Club’s commitment to the community. Every year the Tryall Fund gives scholarships to students from high school to university level to continue their education. The Tryall Sports Club has also been tireless in their charities and community-building programs to help local hospices provide for the elderly and physically challenged, and bringing meaningful change to schools and public services in the surrounding communities.”
