Seychelles' Denis Private Island and the Indian Ocean Lodge rank among the very best on Trip Advisor

Seychelles' Denis Private Island and the Indian Ocean Lodge rank among the very best on Trip Advisor ( Two Seychelles tourism establishments, Denis Private Island and the Indian Ocean Lodge, have been placed among the best hotels on the Trip Advisor travel site after consistently earning top ratings from travelers over the year 2012.

The top ratings have led both Denis Private Island and the Indian Ocean Lodge to be rewarded with Certificates of Excellence by Trip Advisor - one of the world's largest travel sites.

Trip Advisor is the most popular form of travel website used to guide holidaymakers when making a booking for their vacation, as well as assists customers in gathering travel information, posting reviews and opinions of travel-related content, and engaging in interactive travel forums.

Founded in February 2000 by Stephen Kaufer, Trip Advisor is the world's largest leading travel site. It is well-known for its advice from real travelers, and a wide variety of travel choices worldwide. This site mainly reaches out to an audience composed of the largest travel community in the world, with more than 60 million unique monthly visitors and over 75 million reviews and opinions. The site operates in 30 countries worldwide, supported by an advertising business model.

Denis Private Island is home to 25 beach cottages perched on the northern edge of Seychelles lagoon - a tropical hideaway swathed by vegetation, pristine beaches, and surrounded by crystal clear waters. The Indian Ocean Lodge on the other hand is located along Grand Anse beach on Praslin and is nestled among mature Takamaka trees and a lush tropical garden on the water's edge. A charming “beach chic” hotel, the Indian Ocean Lodge is truly the hidden jewel of Praslin.

“A short stay on Denis Private Island is a must for any visit to Seychelles. There is just something magical about it," said one visitor in its review.

The visitor goes on to say: “From the air, you can see the blue lagoon surrounding the Denis Island below. Landing on the island, a nature reserve with its rare birds and the beautiful bungalows, will make you feel as though you are the only people on the island."

“The bungalows are very good standard and are equipped with everything you need. The open air bathroom is lovely and had a proper bath. Although the island is pretty big, there are only a few villas, so it is very quiet and relaxing," added the visitor.

Denis Private Island works towards manageable levels of sustainability, with the hotel's room furniture being crafted from the islands fallen timber, to the water collected from underground water wells and supplemented by rain catchment reservoirs. In addition, the island’s coconut oil is utilized by the hotel's wellness treatments and massages. They have their own farm on the island, and you can also enjoy fresh produce, eggs, milk, fruits, and homemade jam.

“The diving was amazing; saw so many things, and the team at the dive center [is] very helpful and make the whole experience very enjoyable. I would recommend this island to everyone but especially to honeymoon couples who want magical memories," said another visitor.

Offering 32 Villas located close to the beach with a marine decor, the Indian Ocean Lodge ensures that visitors enjoy the natural beauty of Praslin. This beachside Praslin Island bed-and-breakfast is minutes from Grand Anse Beach, the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve, and within minutes of Anse Lazio Beach and plenty of summer activities.

Guests enjoy friendly service, excellent cuisine, and attention to detail in the hotel's restaurant, which offers both local and international cuisine in an informal atmosphere, with live entertainment on selected days. The well-stocked pool bar allows for some of the best cocktails in the area to be enjoyed while watching the spectacular tropical sunset.

One of the visitors comparing the Indian Ocean Lodge to a five-star said it was not a disappointment; instead they had a pleasant surprise.

“We loved it from the moment we checked in to our delicious lunch of fresh stir-fried calamari and grey jackfish with tomato chutney, topped off with a fresh coconut milkshake; the personal service; charming setup; and friendly laid-back feel of this small property," described the visitor.

The Indian Ocean Lodge is ranked as one of the best choices when staying on Praslin Island. You can take a walk on the endless white sandy beach, or you can sit and watch the sunset in the evenings. It has also been described on Trip Advisor as clean, friendly, and has everything one wishes for.
