Experts from La Reunion are in Seychelles to conduct workshop with culture institutions

Experts from La Reunion are in Seychelles to conduct workshop with culture institutions (Forimmediaterelease.net) Two experts from La Reunion island are currently in Seychelles to conduct a five-day workshop as part of the existing corporation program between La Reunion and Seychelles, and also as part of the assistance Seychelles receives from this neighbor island.

Mrs. Nadine Rouayroux, the Director of the Departmental Archives of La Reunion and also a professor in archives and conservation of documents, and Mr. Raymond Barthes, specialist in digital photographing, are conducting sessions in their respective fields for Culture Department institutions. This is following a request made earlier this year by the Seychelles National Archives for assistance in archives conservation techniques.

Cultural institutions from the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture benefiting from the sessions are the National Archives, the National Library, the National Museum, and the Heritage Research.

Mrs. Rouayroux and Mr. Barthes have also donated special conservation equipment and accessories to the National Archives to be used by the institution for the efficient conservation of documents.

The visit of the two experts also falls in line with the Indian Ocean Project “Iconotheque de l’Ocean Indien” which will be officially presented on October 29.

As part of their program, Mrs. Rouayroux and Mr. Barthes will also have the opportunity to participate in the opening ceremony of the forthcoming Festival Kreol.
