Seychelles FESTIVAL KREOL is opportunity for aviation and tourism to rally for more visibility for the country

Seychelles FESTIVAL KREOL is opportunity for aviation and tourism to rally for more visibility for the country ( The Seychelles annual October “FESTIVAL KREOL” continues to bring the island’s business community and key organizers together to work to increase visibility for the tourism paradise islands. The organizing committee has yet again received a significant contribution from one of its faithful main partners from the world of aviation. The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCCA) is considered a true partner of the “FESTIVAL KREOL,” and has this year again shown its support to the festival through the donation of 75,000 rupees. In a small ceremony in the conference room of the Seychelles Minister for Tourism&Culture, Minister Alain St.Ange accepted the donation from Mr. Gilbert Faure, the Chief Executive of Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority.

In her introductory remarks at the presentation ceremony, the Chairperson of the Festival organizing committee, Mrs. Raymonde Onezime said that “valuable contribution from the festival partners brings out the message that the nation is gradually taking ownership of the festival.” The Seychelles Minister responsible for Culture, Alain St.Ange, on his part thanked the SCAA for its faithful partnership and worthy contribution.

“Accepting to be the faithful partner of the ‘FESTIVAL KREOL’ illustrates the aviation industry’s understanding that a successful tourism industry is, and will remain, a triangular approach where tourism, civil aviation, and the partner airlines work together for the benefit of all parties. There would be limited need for air access if the island’s tourism industry was nonexistent; this is reason enough for all partners to be committed and supportive as is being so clearly displayed by the SCAA. The move to work together to consolidate cultural tourism will bring added visibility for the tourism industry. Visibility is something anyone with the slightest understanding of the industry will appreciate and will remain vital for the success of our tourism industry. The hosting of Routes Africa 2012 in July was a good example of where tourism and the Civil Aviation Authority came together as partners for the benefit of the country.

“Today’s donation further consolidates SCAA’s support for the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in the organization of its events. In three years time, the ‘FESTIVAL KREOL’ will celebrate its 30th edition, and we today undertake to actively include SCAA in planning this milestone for Victoria, the ‘Creole Capital of the World.’ We will need Seychelles to commit with us to mark this important anniversary of the festival,” said Minister St.Ange.

In the presence of the Festival’s organizing committee and the media, the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority, Gilbert Faure, has officially pledged his continued support for the “FESTIVAL KREOL.” He said that SCAA remains committed in giving financial support for the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to continue to host their annual events.

The Seychelles Civil Aviation authority became the seventh organization to present its donation for “FESTIVAL KREOL” to Minister St.Ange. It was only last month that six organizations presented their checks to the Minister responsible for culture.
