Seychelles coastal protection gets an extra boost through cultural tourism drive with Mauritius

Seychelles coastal protection gets an extra boost through cultural tourism drive with Mauritius (Forimmediaterelease.net) Seychelles rehabilitation of its coastal zone has been given an additional boost with the planting of a number of trees on the island of La Digue by the Mauritian Minister for Arts and Culture, Mr. Mookhesswur Choonee, and his Seychellois counterpart, Minister Alain St.Ange.

“Ploughing the soil and planting endemic coastal trees at Anse Severe at La Digue is a beautiful reminder of the symbolic partnership and growing future between Seychelles and Mauritius,” said Minister Choonee of Mauritius.

In the presence of Ms. Benjamine Rose, the Principal Secretary for Culture; Mrs. Raymonde Onezime, the Special Advisor to Minister St. Ange; and Mrs. Chantal Ghislain, the elected member of the National Assembly for La Digue, the tree planting ceremony also marked a new beginning and an exciting future between the two countries. “In time, these trees will grow tall and strong – and will rehabilitate the Anse Severe coastal zone for future generations,” said the Seychelles Minister, Mr. Alain St.Ange.

Minister Choonee is now listed as one of the high dignitaries visiting Seychelles to have contributed to the Seychelles continued commitment to protecting the environment and in the rehabilitation of its coastal zone.
