Seychelles Tourism Board hosts the renowned Japanese Professor Watanabe during 69th visit to Seychelles

Seychelles Tourism Board hosts the renowned Japanese Professor Watanabe during 69th visit to Seychelles ( The CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Elsia Grandcourt, and Senior Marketing Executive, Stephanie Lablache, recently hosted eminent Japanese Professor Watanabe on his 69th visit to Seychelles to a lunch at the Marie Antoinette Creole restaurant. Professor Watanabe was accompanied on this visit by a group of Japanese school teachers.

The purpose of Professor Watanabe’s visit was to learn about Seychelles’ conservation policies through education, and to recommence the program of exchanges of school children between Seychelles and Japan. This exchange started on this trip with an exchange of paintings.

A prolific visitor to the islands, Professor Watanabe has accomplished a great deal over the years towards the promotion of Seychelles in Japan. Prior to the lunch, at which the Professor presented Elsia Grandcourt with his book about the Japanese media world, the group visited the gardens of State House and Victoria’s bustling market. All of the members of Professor Watanabe’s group expressed their amazement at the way Seychelles’ unique environment has been preserved.

Professor Watanabe’s group has been staying at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort&Casino where they have particularly enjoyed the beach and cooling sea breezes, as well as their experience of the preparation and cooking of Seychelles’ fish dishes.

During their visit, the group has visited the island of Praslin and the Vallée de Mai, the home of the unique Coco de Mer Nut and have also taken a trip to Bird Island. The Japanese delegation expressed their desire to stay longer in Seychelles on a future occasion.
