Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands next meeting to take place in La Reunion

Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands next meeting to take place in La Reunion ( Tourism chiefs from the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands are set to meet for 3 days in La Reunion from August 20-23.

This will be the first meeting of the organization since Minister Alain St.Ange from the Seychelles was elected President of the grouping of six islands (Comoros, La Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, Mauritius, and Seychelles).
The new Council of the Island Organization will decide on the question of a CEO for the organization, the plan of action for the group, and the budget.

“The era that we hold hand-shake meetings is finished. We are now mandated after the Seychelles meeting to move the organization forward, and this will be done. We count on every member state to be present, but if they cannot, a majority decision will be sought to start the ball rolling. For too long we remained in a status quo with what some member states were [calling] hand-shake meetings and visits. But the time to be serious is now,” Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles, the first sitting President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands, said.

The CEO of the six tourism boards or organizations representing Comoros, La Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, Mauritius, and Seychelles is expected to be present, accompanied by their ministers responsible for tourism.

Minister St.Ange said that he needed to thank La Reunion for their willingness to host this first meeting.
