Leading online magazine Global Beauties believes in Miss Seychelles

Leading online magazine Global Beauties believes in Miss Seychelles ( The leading online magazine for international beauty pageants, Global Beauties, has featured “Seychelles…another world” 2012, Sherlyn Furneau, as Miss World 2012 crown material in its article, “A second look at this year’s competition and favorites.”

The article, written by Ed Dominguez, who is the Co-owner of Global Beauties, has ranked “Miss Seychelles…another world” 2012 as a strong contender, with the chance of winning the Miss World 2012 title, listing her in the 15 favorite contestants of Miss World 2012.

Based in Sao Paulo in Brazil and founded in 1998, Global Beauties is the number one online source of information and inspiration for the field of pageants. In 2000, it created the “Grand Slam of Beauty pageants™,” which comprehends the world’s six major international contests: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Tourism Queen International, and Miss Supranational.

Seychelles’ reigning beauty queen is sixth on the list, with Miss Wales in first place, followed by Miss Colombia, Miss China PR, Miss Australia, and Miss Mexico. Other contestants to make the list include Miss France, Miss Poland, Miss Brazil, Miss Jamaica, Miss Nepal, Miss Netherlands, Miss Spain, Miss Israel, and Miss South Sudan.

Captured by the beauty of Sherlyn Furneau of Seychelles, Ed Dominguez has since reviewed his views of Seychelles, which in his article he outlines by saying, “When you think of the Seychelles, you think of beach, sun, and paradise; and now of beautiful women.”

Ed Dominguez goes on to say that he is impressed with Miss Sherlyn Furneau adding: “This girl, for me, is reminiscent of Emma Wareus (Botswana 2010). She has the beauty, the candor, and the height.”

“In my book, she would definitely make the top 7,” wrote Ed Dominguez, who rightly points out that this edition of the pageant has “one of the strongest Miss World groups in history.”

Ed Dominguez, who has been covering the Miss World beauty contest since 1999, has said that making the list with 15 favorites is indeed difficult but highlighted that “When you follow an event as unique as this one, you learn to know about taste, about the type of girl they like, about the selection criteria.”

It is to be noted that “Miss Seychelles…another world” is currently in the lead for the Pageantology-Miss World 2012, People’s Choice Award for Africa with 943 votes. In second place, is Miss Angola with 114 votes, and Miss Cote d’Ivoire is in third with 192 votes.

Friends of Seychelles and members of the public are being encouraged to give their support and to vote for “Miss Seychelles…another 2012.” To vote for her, visit: .

This year, it is the Seychelles Tourism Board that has taken up the organization of the Miss Seychelles Beauty Pageant. Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of the Tourism Board, has been personally covering every facet of the pageant and the participation of Sherlyn Furneau at the Miss World Pageant. The Celebrate Seychelles Events Department at the Tourism Board, headed by Marymonde Matatiken, has worked tirelessly to get the Seychelles participant to China to be showcased as part of the most beautiful ladies of the world.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, said that it was important for Seychelles to rally behind their very own Miss Seychelles, Sherlyn Furneau. “She has a chance of making us all proud because she is amongst the best in China for that World Pageant. This would have been but a dream had Elsia Grandcourt and her team, under the leadership of Marymonde Matatiken, not rallied to not only organize the Miss Seychelles beauty pageant, but to work with Sherlyn to get her to Italy amongst other cities to be better ready for that great event. On behalf of Seychelles, I say thank you to you Elsia Grandcourt, thank you to Marymonde Matatiken and to your team at the Tourism Board. You have moved mountains, and today once again Seychelles has a Miss Seychelles flying the flag of our beautiful country at the Miss World Pageant,” Minister St.Ange said.
