Sri Lanka Air Force activated air defense systems

( Sri Lanka Air force activated it’s air defense systems once again in Colombo around 1.45 a.m. this morning, in response to suspicious air movements around Colombo. Two secondary oil installations were engaged by two low flying terrorist aircrafts but failed to cause any major damage. A defense spokesperson confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries to any person from the incidence.

Aviation and tourism authorities took all steps to ensure the safety of passengers and tourists at the airport and in Colombo. All flights that were due to land and take off, operated after the air space was cleared within two hours. An interruption in power supplies which lasted more than one and half hours, caused some inconvenience to fans watching the world cup cricket finals between Australia and Sri Lanka.

More updates as necessary will be provided later.
