Seychelles President Michel meets with Lions Club of Seychelles

Seychelles President Michel meets with Lions Club of Seychelles (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Seychelles President, Mr. James Michel, met with President of the Lions Club of Paradise Seychelles, Mr. Pravin Darad, and members of its Executive Committee at State House last week. Mr. Darad presented the President with a report of the NGO’s community activities in the 2011-2012 period. These included numerous healthcare, education, and environmental conservation projects, as well as charitable events.

President Michel thanked the Lions Club of Paradise Seychelles for the work they are doing in the community.

“We appreciate your participation in the life of the country, by getting people together to contribute to society, as this leads to our common progress, hand in hand, for the benefit of the people. The activities of the club are noble, and I wish you very [much] success in your future endeavors, especially in your programs for children and in the medical field,” said President Michel.

Mr. Pravin Darad also briefed the President on the awards the club had received at the international level and pledged the club’s determination to continue to develop community projects that will benefit all sectors of society in the future. Mr. Darad also thanked the government for its support and encouragement in its activities.

The designated Minister and the Minister for Community Development, Social Affairs and Sports, Vincent Meriton, was also present during the meeting, and expressed his appreciation of the Lions Club’ role in helping several communities.
