Green Globe recertifies Anantara Seminyak Resort and Spa Bali, Indonesia

Green Globe recertifies Anantara Seminyak Resort and Spa Bali, Indonesia ( LOS ANGELES, California - Green Globe today announced recertification of Anantara Seminyak Resort&Spa Bali, Indonesia.

The resort´s dedicated Green Globe Committee constantly monitors sustainable procedures, which have been implemented with great commitment, and therefore continuously improves its performance.

Recent resort achievements include winning the Gold Medal at the Tri Hita Karana Tourism Awards of the Governor of Bali. The awards are an important Balinese accreditation for hotel practices and honor “harmony in human relationships and with the natural and spiritual environment.”

In December 2011, Anantara Seminyak Resort&Spa, Bali was also certified as “Tsunami Ready,” being the first hotel in Bali to proactively involve the community and provide tsunami shelter to as many people as possible.

Wayan Sucitra, Environmental Officer at Anantara Seminyak Bali, said: “We are very proud that Anantara Seminyak Bali receives Green Globe recertification. This encourages us to continuously improve our sustainability performance. Everybody at our resort is very committed.”

As an Anantara Resort, the Anantara Seminyak Bali promotes local cultural traditions and contributes to preserve historic heritage and the natural beauty of its destination: the resort regularly participates in environmental activities and events such as Earth Day, Earth Hour, and beach cleaning days. As part of its Social Involvement Program, Anantara Seminyak partners with the community and offers local artisans to sell their handicrafts in the hotel´s gift shop and library; invites them to perform Balinese traditional dances and other entertainment shows on the property; and integrates aspects of the colorful, deeply spiritual, and unique Balinese culture into everyday experiences of guests.

Guido Bauer, Green Globe Certification´s CEO, said: “The Anantara Seminyak Resort offers an expansive range of leisure and recreational activities for guests to experience local culture, history, and the beautiful natural surroundings. For example, elephant safaris with a professional trainer through the breezy jungle of Taro, surfing trips to Kuta and Legian, two of the world´s most popular surfing destinations and beaches, and excursions to Ubud where travelers can explore a bustling arts scene and centuries of old Balinese villages tucked between terraced rice paddies, lotus ponds, and sloping hills from the mountains.”

Other activities include adventurous rafting trips on the Ayung River, which take guests to hidden caves, diving, and snorkeling trips to some of the world´s most diverse diving destinations, and the so-called “Balinese Offering,” which invites guests to connect to the heart of Balinese spirituality, while discovering the religious ceremonies and rituals of the Balinese culture with a local guide.

Anantara Seminyak Resort empowers and employs local employees and purchases local and sustainable products whenever possible. The resort aims to minimize use of water and energy; reduce, reuse, and recycle waste by cooperating with a local waste management vendor; and has a composting program in place. With regularly measuring guest satisfaction, professional training of associates, and comprehensive property maintenance plans, the resort ensures to always offer high-quality services.

Located just a 30-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Anantara Seminyak Bali is one of the leading luxury Bali resorts on the Seminyak coast. The resort location has emerged as the island’s trend-setting hub, a place where leading bars, shops, and restaurants dot the shoreline, while natural wonders such as inland mountains, rivers, and villages are just a short drive away.

Anantara’s all-suite Bali resort, in a prime Seminyak beach front location, offers a distinctly contemporary design approach blended with Balinese and Indonesian culture, ocean views, expansive balconies, and Anantara’s inimitable Jacuzzi terrazzo bath tubs big enough for two. Resort amenities range from the glorious rooftop lounge SOS Supper Club and the rooftop Anantara Spa to an infinity-edge swimming pool with views to the Indian Ocean.

Anantara Seminyak Resort&Spa matches its elegant approach to travel with one of the most upmarket locations in Indonesia, containing chic restaurants and cafes, trendy nightlife, and internationally-renowned shopping opportunities. With nearby historical charms and the hotel’s fastidious approach to both design and facilities, Anantara Seminyak Resort&Spa provides an unforgettable accommodation experience.
