ETOA: new European Operations Manager

ETOA: new European Operations Manager ( The European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) has recruited Adam Buckmaster to join the Secretariat in London as European Operations Manager. In this role, Adam will be responsible for all issues relating to escorted tours, with particular emphasis on combating excessive regulation and restrictive working practices. He will liaise between members of ETOA and authorities in various European countries.

Adam Buckmaster graduated in Modern and Medieval Languages from Selwyn College, Cambridge, specialising in Italian studies. Prior to joining ETOA, Adam worked for EF Educational Tours for three years in a number of roles, initially as a tour manager, guiding groups across Europe and subsequently in EF’s London office working on Product Development.

Tom Jenkins, Executive Director, ETOA, said: “I am delighted that Adam has come to work at ETOA. Both his training and experience will prove invaluable to those members who are involved in escorted tours. With changes in the law in Italy, and increasingly onerous working time regulations, we anticipate that the processes involved in group tours are going to change. Adam will work closely with Tony John, who specialises in transportation, to help members find their way through the new legislative territory.”
