eTurboNews to Partner with World Peace Travel

eTurboNews to Partner with World Peace Travel ( Stowe, VT September 10, 2007 – IIPT President, Louis D’Amore announced today that eTurboNews will be the Media Partner of World Peace Travel (WPT), IIPT’s Travel Division.

In making the announcement, D’Amore said “Thomas Steinmetz and eTuboNews have supported the aims and mission of IIPT from the very beginnings of its publication. We look forward to this further collaboration in promoting travel that demonstrates our belief that “Every traveler is potentially an Ambassador for Peace.”

The aim of ‘World Peace Travel’ is to work with selected tour operators who share IIPT’s dedication to ‘making travel and tourism the world’s first global peace industry.’ WPT tours will provide an opportunity to interact directly with persons of the host country with a view to promoting greater inter-cultural understanding – and as well to help stimulate local employment and entrepreneurship while preserving the integrity of the host community’s natural and cultural heritage. All World Peace Travel Tours will be made available to ASTA members on a commissionable basis.

As WPT’s media partner, eTurboNews will assist in promoting the “World Peace Travel” brand and in providing advertising at special rates for the various tours of WPT.

In agreeing to be the media partner of World Peace Travel, eTurboNews Publisher and CEO Thomas Steinmetz commented, “Clearly, the mission of IIPT in ‘Building a Culture of Peace and Sustainability through Tourism’ has never been more important. We are most pleased to expand our collaboration to World Peace Travel in promoting tours that foster people-to-people encounters and an appreciation of our inter-connectedness in an ever shrinking Global Village.”

The Muscat Festival Tour-the first pilot offering in the WPT line-up, proved to be an inspiring experience for all who took part. In addition to the opportunity to see the spectacular sights of Oman (mountains, canyons, sea and desert) the tour participants were able to serve as hosts in the IIPT booth at the Muscat Festival interacting with the local population and other visitors to the Festival.

A second pilot offering was a “World Peace Tour to the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan" hosted by WPT and Sacred Himalaya Travel, a Bhutanese owned and operated travel company. Both the Muscat and Bhutan Tours will be repeated in 2008 and additional tours will be announced in the months ahead.
