Seychelles exhibits at the Luxury Travel Expo 2011 in Las Vegas – USA ( The Seychelles Tourism Board Director for Africa and the Americas, David Germain, last week led a small Seychelles tourism delegation at the Luxury Travel Expo in Las Vegas, in the state of Nevada, in the United States of America.

The Luxury Travel Expo is the industry’s largest gathering of luxury travel professionals in North America for the North American travel and tourism industry. The event, which was held at The Mandalay Bay Hotel&Casino on Las Vegas Boulevard South in the State of Nevada, took place on Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 8.

Seychelles’ participation at the Luxury Travel Expo is part of the Seychelles Tourism Board’s (STB) focus and action plan for an increased market share from the Americas in future, working with its partners as much as possible to offer the North American travelers different holiday package options to visit Seychelles such as the “Dubai/Seychelles” and “Africa/Seychelles” holiday package combinations. Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airways, South African Airways, and Etihad are all flying directly to various cities in North America and Canada from Dubai, Doha, Johannesburg, and Abu Dhabi, respectively. Mr. Germain held meetings at the expo with the airlines and briefed them of the STB’s action plan for the Americas.

The exhibition was very well attended by travel professionals from different cities of the USA, i.e., San Diego and Los Angeles, California, etc., and the Seychelles delegation returned home this week satisfied and very optimistic that visitor arrival from North America has the potential to grow in the future at a faster pace than before.
