Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association appoints Raymond St.Ange as their new Executive Director ( Raymond St. Ange has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association (SHTA).

The role and appointment comes at an opportune time for the SHTA and the Seychelles, as the SHTA intensifies it’s effort on behalf of its members and the trade in general, and as the country positions itself and adapts to the rapidly-changing landscape both regionally and internationally, so as to protect its tourism and trade industries.

“I look forward to this challenge and will aim to represent both the SHTA and Seychelles in general. My main focus will be to add a vibrant and energetic impetus to what we do here every day at the SHTA and to champion our Creole hospitality at every opportunity,” said Raymond St.Ange.

Mr. St.Ange has held senior managerial positions in Seychelles, in West Africa, and the United States. He has worked for a number of years within a franchise group operating under the Wyndham hospitality brand, responsible for front office and reservations in the USA, and more recently as writer and a project manager with “TODAY in Seychelles" newspaper. Mr. Raymond St.Ange is also a director of a travel and promotions company, and a security consultancy firm, both established in the United States.

Mr. St.Ange is 45 years of age and is a Seychellois national.

The Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association was created in 2002 when the Seychelles Hotel Association merged with the Seychelles Hotel and Guesthouse Association. SHTA’s primary focus is to unite all industry stakeholders under one association in order to be better prepared to defend the interest of the industry and its sustainability as the pillar of the country’s economy.
