Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation TV dedicates airtime to mark Seychelles’ Tourism Week ( The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) teamed up with the Seychelles Tourism Board on the occasion of the Seychelles Tourism (STB) Week from September 23-30, to produce a special tourism TV forum marking Seychelles’ 40 years of tourism. The forum is to be aired on Seychelles TV on Wednesday, October 5 at 9:00 pm.

The Seychelles Tourism Week was organized by the Seychelles Tourism Board to commemorate the UN World Tourism Organization’s World Tourism Day held on September 27.

Seychelles personalities taking part in the special TV forum are Minister Peter Sinon, the Minister for Investment, Natural Resources and Industry; Seychelles Tourism Board's Chief Executive Alain St.Ange; Marina Confait, the Principal Secretary for Employment; Gabriel Essack, the Director for National Heritage; Capt. David Savy, the Chairman of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority; and local tourism professional and Flavien Joubert, the Principal of the Seychelles Tourism Academy.

Seychelles’ famous and well-respected local presenter Nathalie Rose is the host of the special round-table discussion.

The focus of the forum is on the importance of the Seychelles tourism industry, looking at how far the country has come and where it wants to be in the next 40 years, as well as various other elements like career opportunities, cultural tourism, and challenges of the industry, among others.

Alain St.Ange said the aim of the forum is to create public awareness about the importance of the industry and the existing opportunities in the tourism industry, as well as the threats that could affect tourism, the industry which remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy.

Calling on all Seychellois to take ownership of its tourism industry, the forum invites the whole of Seychelles to protect its tourism industry and make it even more sustainable for the next 40 years.

For his part, Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation’s (SBC) studio OB and events coordinator Johnny Souris says the SBC has decided to host the special forum to commemorate the country’s 40th anniversary of its tourism industry and also reflect on where Seychelles wants that vital industry to be in the next 40 years.
