Souvenir Book of the 2011 Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria goes to print

Souvenir Book of the 2011 Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria goes to print (Forimmediaterelease.net) A full-color souvenir book of the 2011 “Carnaval International de Victoria" has been completed and is currently being printed in Dubai. The 84-page book, which was designed and put together by Olivia Alvis and Michel Agrippine at the Seychelles Tourism Board, is a large format book which measures 305 x 310 mm with a hard cover in landscape format. It will be printed as a limited edition book.

The book, entitled “Seychelles, Enters the World of Carnival,” has two pages dedicated to the island’s first carnivals of 1972 and 1976. Glynn Burridge, a local author who is also the copywriter at the Seychelles Tourism Board wrote the foreword of the book. He is the author of two published works: “Voices," a collection of Seychelles short stories, and “Kolony," a novel set in Seychelles. The carnival coffee-table book is produced by Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, who has already published three Seychelles political history books and the Seychelles Regatta souvenir coffee-table book.

The “Seychelles, Enters the World of Carnival" book brings to life the work prior to the carnival launch with meetings in Dubai to promote the carnival by Minister Jean Paul Adam and Alain St.Ange, and the one in South Africa between the South African President Jacob Zuma and Alain St.Ange.

The Carnival Book’s three main sections covers, through many pictures, the 2011 Carnival Official opening ceremony at the Clock Tower in Victoria on March 4, the Carnival Procession of March 5, and the family fun day and the carnival’s closing ceremony and prize-giving of March 6.

“I think it is important to mark these important events with such publications, as they put in perspective everything that has been achieved,” stated Alain St. Ange, author of the book, “In the case of the carnival, all was accomplished very intensely and within an extremely short period of time, and this new, coffee table book places all this in context with a lovely assortment of images that capture the vibrancy, color, and excitement of the event.”

“Not only does it provide attractive coverage of what was a momentous event for Seychelles, but it is also an important promotional tool with which to stimulate further interest in the carnival over the coming years,” commented Alain St. Ange.

The souvenir coffee-table book is expected to arrive in Seychelles in mid-June and will stand alongside the Tourism Board’s-produced DVD of the milestone event as eloquent records of the highly-acclaimed 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria."
