Seychelles drums up greater international interest and support for 2012 Carnaval International de Victoria

Seychelles drums up greater international interest and support for 2012 Carnaval International de Victoria (Forimmediaterelease.net) One beneficial by-product of the presence of Seychelles Tourism Board CEO Alain St.Ange and consultant Glynn Burridge at the 5th International Institute of Peace through Tourism (IIPT) taking place in Lusaka, Zambia, from May 15-20, 2011, is the opportunity to drum up even greater international interest in, and support for, the 2nd edition of their 2012 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria," due to take place between March 2-4, 2012.

The Seychelles Tourism Board continues to pursue its policy of promoting events-based tourism in line with the values of the Seychelles brand of tourism, launched by the President of Seychelles, James Michel, who holds the portfolio for tourism.

For the 2nd edition of the highly-successful carnival, Seychelles has plans to create a specific carnival niche: representatives from little-known peoples and cultures throughout the world who will benefit hugely from exposure at the carnival and from its extensive international press coverage, to showcase their unique, yet obscure, ways of life.

Contact is currently being established with representatives of the pygmy people of Gabon; an American Indian tribe; the Creole people of Louisiana, USA; and the aboriginal peoples of Australia.

It is hoped that their participation at next year's Seychelles carnival will not only add a fresh element of diversity and innovation to the event, but will also serve to increase and deepen social interaction between people worldwide, which is one of the principal aims of the event.
