Hilton Shreveport to host Travel South USA Advertising Committee, a first for Shreveport-Bossier City
“We are very excited about meeting in Shreveport-Bossier City,” said Liz Bittner, executive director for Travel South USA. “This is our first meeting in Shreveport, and we wanted to be sure to include them on our schedule because of all of the new developments going on in the area.”
Travel South USA will have advertising and marketing directors from 12 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. While here, the committee will take a tour of the Louisiana Boardwalk and several downtown Shreveport attractions. Travel South USA extended great gratitude to the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau for helping them find such a convenient, affordable and accommodating venue for their committee meeting.
“We have a tremendous opportunity to expand our marketing reach and forge partnerships with other destinations in the south,” said Kelly Wells, vice president of tourism marketing and a member of Travel South. “This regional meeting is just the beginning, because we hope to host their large annual conference that draws hundreds of marketing professionals, tour operators, travel suppliers and media from around the nation.”
Travel South USA was formed in 1965 at the Southern Governor’s Conference. As the official destination marketing organization for the south, its mission is to promote, foster, and encourage travel to and within 12 southern destinations.
