( Singapore, August 14, 2007: Jet Airways launched its historic flight connecting India with United States on August 5, with daily flights from Mumbai to New York (Newark) via its European hub in Brussels.

Flight 9W 228 (Mumbai-New York), departs from Terminal 2A Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport daily at 0210 hrs and arrives in Brussels International Airport at 0740 hrs. At Brussels, special arrangements have been made by Airport Authorities to provide Jet Airways’ passengers a seamless connection.

The flight will depart Brussels at 0940 hrs and will arrive in New York at Newark’s New International Liberty Airport at 1155 hrs.

From New York (Newark), 9W 227 (New York – Mumbai) departs daily at 2025 hrs and arrives at 0940 hrs in Brussels. It leaves Brussels at 1140 hrs and arrives in Mumbai at 2230 hrs the same day.

Jet Airways will use a brand new Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft to fly this very important route, which will carry 312 passengers in a three-class layout and will offer unprecedented levels of luxury, privacy and comfort in the air.

Jet Airways has created the first airline ‘suite’ in the sky. Each First Class suite providing over 26sq ft of usable space, features dual sliding doors that create complete privacy. These suites will feature the world’s longest First Class bed at 83 inches, massive 23 inch flat screen monitors. The menu choices are exquisite and extensive. The finest of French Wines, Champagnes, including vintage Dom Perignon and Krug and a library of single malt whiskies will be offered.

The new Première lie flat beds represent the absolute latest in airline seat technology. Featuring a 73” bed length, that electronically converts to an enormous 180 degree flat bed with lumbar support and massage systems, Première passengers will rest in unequalled comfort.

The new economy seat has a seat pitch of 32”. It has been custom designed using the science of advanced ergonomics to create arguably the most comfortable economy seat in the sky.

The state-of-the-art In-Flight Panasonic eX2 Entertainment system offers passengers over 200 hours of Hollywood and Bollywood movies, regional films, television and short programming, audio CD’s covering every imaginable music genre and much, much more; all on demand and all heard through Bose noise cancellation headphones.

Jet Airways has a special inaugural return fare of Rs.36,000 in Economy class on the Mumbai-New York sector. The normal Economy return fares start from Rs.40,000. The ‘Premier’ return fares start from Rs.1,53,000 while the First Class return fares are between Rs.345,000 and Rs.415,000. (All Fares indicated are excluding taxes)*

For the operations of the Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, Jet Airways have signed up with Lufthansa Technik for maintenance support and assignment of qualified engineers.
