WYSTC is the essential global youth travel industry event for organizations that serve today’s young people who travel to study, work, and grow.
“There is always a lot of interest in hosting WYSTC. Smart destinations and tourism organizations know the long-term value of the youth market, and we are looking forward to bringing our high-value business delegates to the next successful host city,” according to Michael Palmer, Conference Director for WYSTC.
The conference provides an opportunity for attendees to pursue innovative partnerships, develop creative marketing and distribution channels, and access new markets.
This is a professional travel trade conference. It includes networking activities, professional seminars, scheduled business appointments, association meetings, and an exhibition area.
As well as bringing immediate financial benefits, the legacy of the conference and its dynamic attendees benefit the host region long after the event through the strong partnerships that are created at WYSTC: young travelers generate over US$136 billion in tourism annually. Much of this money remains with locally-owned businesses and communities, contributing to sustainable economic development, and this segment continues to be the fastest-growing segment of the travel industry.
The expectation is that 750 to 850 people will attend in 2012 and 850 to 1,000 will attend in 2013.
WYSTC attendees are key decision makers; 95% hold top-level positions such as CEO, Owner, Partner, President, and Director, and they represent:
• youth, student and educational travel companies;
• language schools and educational institutions;
• youth travel-related suppliers such as accommodation, attractions,
entertainment organizations, restaurateurs, transportation companies, and
• support services such as insurance, technology, marketing organizations, etc.; and
• regional, state, national, and non-governmental tourism and destination
